The weekend of June 24-27 marked one of the most beautiful and somber remembrance of the 308 members of the military from Ohio killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan since September 11, 2001. Hosted by Northfield, Ohio VFW Post 6768, the Remembering Our Fallen Memorial included 308 flags with names of each Ohioan lost in action per flagpole. The area was also decorated with over 100 additional flags from NEOPAT’s Operation Flags of Freedom Team. VFW Post 6768 estimates nearly 1,000 are residents took the time over the pre-4th of July weekend to stop and pay respects. The event was free and open to the public.
