NEOPAT was honored to be invited to participate in a recent Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, April 29th hosted by Parker Hannifin and their NEOVETS Chapter of the Parker Veteran Business Resource Group (VBRG), bringing together employees committed to supporting veterans, service members, and military families in meaningful ways.
Events like these reflect the power of corporate engagement and the important role veteran and military BRG’s play in building awareness, connection, and impact throughout our community.
During the session, Rick DeChant, NEOPAT Board Chair, shared updates on the highly anticipated upcoming commissioning week for the USS Cleveland Foundation and the significance of this historic moment for Northeast Ohio. Rick spoke about the pride our region feels in welcoming the commissioning of the future USS Cleveland and how this milestone serves as a powerful tribute to our city’s legacy, patriotism, and support for those who serve.
NEOPAT Executive Director Greg Renkas also provided an overview of NEOPAT’s programs and services across Northeast Ohio, highlighting how community support helps strengthen the lives of veterans and military families through four key pillars of impact: Emergency Assistance, Mental Wellness, Community Engagement, and Remembrance. From helping military families navigate urgent financial hardships, to expanding access to alternative wellness programs, to fostering connections through community partnerships and events, Greg shared how NEOPAT continues Keeping the Promise to those who have served.
The Lunch & Learn also created an opportunity for thoughtful discussion around how employers and employee resource groups can play an active role in supporting veterans in the workplace and beyond. Through organizations like NEOVETS, companies such as Parker Hannifin are demonstrating how corporate leadership can make a meaningful difference for the military-connected community.
We are grateful to the NEOVETS team and everyone at Parker Hannifin for the invitation, the warm welcome, and for fostering a culture that values service, connection, and community impact.
Partnerships like these remind us that supporting veterans and military families is a shared responsibility—and together, we can continue building a stronger homefront for those who serve.
