Serving Hot Lunches to Veterans in Need

NEOPAT, in partnership with the RID-ALL Green Urban Agricultural Initiative and veteran employee volunteers from KeyBank’s Veteran Employee Council, teamed up on Martin Luther King Day to serve 110 hot lunches to formerly homeless and in-transition veterans from Cleveland’s inner city.  The majority of those who received lunches are part of the RID-ALL Victory Garden Veterans program.  The goal of this program is to teach those participating veterans the necessary skill sets that are part of urban agriculture and urban fish farming technologies.  Food and fish raised at RID-ALL are sold to area stores and restaurants in order to promote healthier eating habits in Cleveland’s inner city neighborhoods.
