NEOPAT Joins Edison High School’s Salute to Service

NEOPAT was honored to take part in two days of Salute to Service events at Edison High School in Milan, Ohio. Edison is the alma mater of Navy Corpsman Max Soviak, who was killed in Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.

The first day included a presentation to approximately 300 Edison High School students about the importance of serving their community and the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The presentation was led by NEOPAT Senior Advisor Emeritus CDR Rick DeChant (USCG, Ret.).

The following evening, September 11, Edison dedicated its football game to Max and to veterans throughout the Milan community. Attendees were invited to bring pet food for the Erie County Animal Shelter in honor of Max’s love of dogs. By the end of the game, the community had collected a trailer full of pet food.

NEOPAT provided support on site both days, including the military branch flags carried by the Edison team as it entered the field. Together, the events offered a meaningful celebration of service and community.
