A Great Outing for NEOPAT’s Military Family Day at the Akron Zoo

NEOPAT welcomed more than 150 veterans, service members and military family members to the Akron Zoo on Sunday, August 30, for a memorable Military Family Day sponsored by U.S. Bank, Akron Children’s Hospital and Marigold Catering.

Families spent the day exploring the zoo, visiting the animals and enjoying valuable time together. Guests also received a special welcome from a very friendly lizard during an up-close animal meet and greet. Face painting added to the fun, while the dinosaurs displayed throughout the zoo offered another exciting experience for guests of all ages.

Marigold Catering generously provided boxed lunches for attendees, giving families an opportunity to gather, relax and connect with one another during the day.

NEOPAT’s Military Family Days are designed to recognize the sacrifices made by our military families while providing them with opportunities to create lasting memories together. Events like this also strengthen the connections among veterans, currently serving military members and families throughout Northeast Ohio.
