Akron (October 14, 2023)
It was “all hands on deck” in Akron Saturday evening, October 14, as Naval Reserve Center (NRC) Akron raised their glasses to toast the 248th birthday of the United States Navy. NEOPAT was a proud sponsor of this event. The sponsorship was recognized from the podium by the unit’s Commanding Officer Lieutenant Commander Jonathan Westerman and in the event program.
The keynote speaker for the evening was retired Vice Admiral Clinton Fiason, former Chief of U. S. Navy Medical. NRC Akron is a Navy Medical Support Unit. In his comments Vice Admiral Fiason noted and thanked the Reservists in attendance for their ongoing support of the Navy’s Global mission. Approximately two hundred sailors and family members were in attendance. Happy Birthday Navy!
