NEOPAT is honored to feature Mike Hudson, United States Marine Corps, Retired, in this month’s Faces of Service spotlight. With 21 years of active duty and a continued dedication to the military community in Northeast Ohio, Mike exemplifies service, sacrifice, and leadership.
Originally from Sandusky, Ohio, Mike enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1994, building an extraordinary career and achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer-4 (CWO4). During his service, he held pivotal
roles such as Battalion Motor Transport Officer in Ar Ramadi, Iraq; Ministry of Defense Maintenance Officer in Baghdad; and Marine Expeditionary Force Motor Transport Officer in Afghanistan. His
deployments included Operations Southern Watch, Desert Thunder, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom.
Mike retired in 2015, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of leadership and dedication. Following his retirement, Mike transitioned seamlessly into the civilian sector, serving for nine years as a global human resources leader. During this time, he spearheaded veteran hiring practices, developed support networks for military spouses, and founded a Veteran Resource Group to assist veterans in their professional journeys.
Today, Mike continues to serve the military community he holds so dear. As a mentor for the Trumbull County Veterans Assistance Program, he supports veterans navigating the transition to civilian life. He also works closely with servicemembers at the Youngstown Air Reserve Base, and National Guard members at Camp James A. Garfield. Beyond his mentoring efforts, Mike shares his leadership expertise as an adjunct instructor at Kent State University, preparing the next generation for success.
As a NEOPAT board member, Mike is instrumental in connecting veterans, servicemembers, and their families with vital resources. Reflecting on his own experiences, he shares: “There are many governmental and non-profit efforts to assist and support veterans, but there is no way to understand what is available and efficiently navigate those agencies. I struggled to understand where to go for support when I transitioned from the Marine Corps; that is why I want to help NEOPAT serve as the connector of veterans, military members, and their families with the support they need.”
Mike Hudson’s impact on Northeast Ohio’s military community is profound. Whether mentoring veterans, supporting military installations, or teaching students, Mike’s dedication and leadership
continue to inspire. NEOPAT is proud to honor his service and his ongoing efforts to strengthen the lives of those who serve.
