NEOPAT’s Annual Veteran Outing at Fin Feather Fur

NEOPAT was proud to kick off the weekend on Friday, February 20th, with our annual Perry Demming Outdoor Freedom Project veteran outing at Fin Feather Fur in Ashland, Ohio—an energizing day of camaraderie, connection, and outdoor recreation with more than 20 veterans from across Northeast Ohio.

Throughout the day, participants rotated through a variety of hands-on activities, including archery, casting lines by the water, air rifle target shooting, and other outdoor experiences designed to be both engaging and therapeutic. For many, these shared moments in the outdoors provide more than recreation—they foster connection, reduce stress, and create space for meaningful conversation among peers who understand one another’s journeys.

We also enjoyed a great lunch together, giving everyone time to relax, laugh, and strengthen the bonds that make these outings so impactful.

At NEOPAT, we believe healing and community often happen outside the walls of traditional settings. Events like this reflect our ongoing commitment to providing opportunities that support mental wellness, fellowship, and continued engagement for the veterans we serve.

It was a fantastic start to the weekend—and a powerful reminder that when veterans come together in a supportive environment, great things happen.
