Cleveland (March 15, 2024)
On Friday, March 15, the Cleveland Society for Human Resource Management (CSHRM) and Workforce Readiness Special Interest Group (SIG), in collaboration with the Greater Cleveland Partnership, hosted a Hiring Our Heroes event. The aim was simple: to bridge the gap between transitioning veterans and local human resource leaders seeking skilled talent.
Led by Rick DeChant, NEOPAT Senior Advisor, the panel included representatives from Swagelok, The Mission Transition, Ohio Means Jobs, and Sherwin-Williams. Attendees gained valuable insights into recruiting best practices and the advantages of hiring veterans for an organization’s talent strategy. They also discovered how veterans’ skill sets and work ethic translate into various career paths and had the opportunity to network with industry professionals.
The event served as a platform for meaningful connections and knowledge exchange, highlighting the importance of supporting veterans in their transition to civilian employment. Through collaboration and shared expertise, the Hiring Our Heroes event contributed to building a stronger, more inclusive workforce in the Greater Cleveland area.
