From the Mound to the Mission: Jason Stanford’s Next Chapter

At NEOPAT, we’re proud to uplift the stories of those who go above and beyond in service to our country and our communities. This month, we’re highlighting Jason Stanford — a former Cleveland Indians pitcher who has turned his post-baseball career into a mission of service.

Jason spent part of three seasons on the pitcher’s mound for the Cleveland Indians. After his baseball career, he didn’t walk away from teamwork—he just found a new team to serve.

As co-founder and President of Frontline to Field, Jason focuses his time and energy on supporting military members, veterans, and first responders. The organization creates opportunities for these individuals to connect, find support, and build community through events and mental health initiatives.

One of the foundation’s first Ohio events was a Paint & Sip brunch, which led to a $2,500 donation to the Boardman Professional Firefighters Local 1176. That support went directly toward covering mental health-related costs for firefighters. Jason has also helped organize community-based events like golf outings and is exploring ideas such as police-versus-fire tournaments to build camaraderie.

What makes his work stand out is the simple concept behind it—use sports and shared experiences to bring people together. Whether it’s in Ohio, Arizona, or Colorado, Frontline to Field keeps its focus local so each community benefits from its own efforts.

Jason’s playing days may be over, but his commitment to service is just getting started. He’s still bringing people together—just in a different uniform.
