Honoring Service and Sacrifice: Lawrence Walton
NEOPAT is honored to recognize Lawrence Walton in our Faces of Service series. Lawrence’s military career was inspired by his uncles, John Harris, an Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient, and Jimmie Johnson, a U.S. Navy veteran. Their stories motivated him to forge his own legacy of service. At just 18, Lawrence joined the U.S. Navy, rising from Undesignated Seaman Recruit to Navy Counselor Senior Chief (E8) over an impressive 24-year career.
Lawrence excelled as a recruiter for 17 years, guiding individuals into military careers and helping them transition to civilian life. He found immense pride in mentoring others and witnessing their success, whether through promotions or career changes, underscoring the importance of teamwork and growth. Balancing military duties with family life was challenging, with long hours and missed events. Yet, Lawrence’s commitment to both his career and loved ones remained steadfast, highlighting the sacrifices of service.
After his military career, Lawrence joined Swagelok, where he continues to support veterans through programs like Skillbridge and MSEP, and raising awareness of veterans’ challenges. His passion for helping veterans with a smooth transition to civilian life has made him a source of stability and guidance for many.
Thank you, Lawrence, for your dedication to our country and your community.
